And then, one night, one of them comes from a baseball game, and carries a loaded shotgun, prepared to kill. Another man burns down his own house after locking his spouse and young boy in a closet.

In only a matter of a few days, the town turns into a sickening asylum. People who once led satisfying lives turn to blood thirsty and deprived killers. They are supplied with their knives and guns and hide in darkness. Sheriff Dutton does his best to sound correct of what has happened as the violence and silly events escalate. The town of Ogden Marsh is now under some kind of anarchy and it’s as if every townsfolk succumbs to an unknown toxin.

The few still sane are surrounded among the mad. These are policeman Dutton, his pregnant wife Judy ( Radha Mitchell ), Becca ( Danielle Panabaker ), a helper at the medical center, and Russell ( Joe Anderson ), Dutton’s assistant and right-hand man.
